With funding from the Diocese of Rochester through the Children and Young Persons Grant, we were able to secure nearly £5000 towards our Spiritual Art Studio that is in school.

Our Art Studio is run by Susan Salter, a published children's illustrator and committed Christian and allows children from across the school to explore faith through the medium of art. 

Classes work on a 'big' piece of art per year and this art is then displayed around the school for our whole community to see. This may include work on parables, our vision story and other stories from the bible that classes may be exploring. 

Children are encouraged to talk during their time in the studio not just about faith and Christianity but about how St. Edmund's 'lets their light shine' and develops them as individuals. 

We welcome visitors to our studio and were fortunate enough to have Bishop James Langstaff, the Bishop of Rochester visit when he was in the deanery. 

Future plans for the studio include opening it up to families and the local community as well as to continue to develop our very strong links to St. Edumund's church.
